Amazon has unveiled a new $100-billion-plus-in-clothing-store empire that is expected to hit stores nationwide within the next few months.
The company’s new retail empire, the Amazon.com Amazon Prime Store, is set to open its first stores in 2018, according to the company.
Amazon will open at least 20 stores by the end of the year, according the company’s 2017-2018 annual report.
Amazon Prime’s online-commerce business was valued at $10.7 billion in the fourth quarter of 2018.
Prime members can shop for clothing, accessories, toys, and more, and they can also get a 30 percent discount on most electronics and furniture purchases.
The new store is the company first foray into the world of online retail, according Amazon.
The Prime Store is Amazon’s attempt to capitalize on the growing popularity of Amazon Prime memberships, which began in December 2017.
The retailer also recently introduced a new streaming service called Prime Video.
Amazon has sold more than 3 million Prime members in the U.S. and Canada, and is currently ranked second in the number of Prime members who pay a monthly fee.
